BIO
My paintings are influenced by images from botanical and medical books, cartoons and advertising. The images are deconstructed, reinvented combined, overlapped, erased and reformed. The structures amass, combine and overlap. The positive and negative space is explored and the painting process emphasized to create new images that are hybrids of science, memory and pop culture.
I am graduate of Barat College and the Art Institute of Chicago. My work has been shown in competitive and invitational exhibitions both national and international. Selected exhibitions include: the Chicago Cultural Center, Rockford Art Museum, South Bend Museum of Art, Davenport Museum of Art, Freeport Museum of Art, New Visions Museum, David Weinberg Gallery, Kraft Lieberman Gallery, Judith Racht Gallery, Wood Street Gallery, University of Illinois.
